Arlie in Redding, CT |
||||||
Arlie is a very handsome, six year old boy who was loved very much by his family, but was turned over to rescue when their circumstances changed, and they were no longer able to give him the care and attention he deserved.
Arlie is very sweet and attentive to his foster family. Even though he likes everyone, he is the kind of dog who will attach himself to one special person in the family. He follows his foster mom throughout the house and is very content to just be in her presence. He likes to cuddle on her lap when she is working on the computer, but is also content to sit at her feet if she cannot have him on her lap. When she goes out to run errands, he waits at the back door for her to return. He is a very quiet and undemanding dog. Because he is so quiet and undemanding, Arlie will do best in a calm and loving home. He is a little bit anxious and insecure in new situations. Therefore, his new family should have someone who is more of a homebody and able to spend time with him. If you love to read or putter and have a gentle dog by your side, this is the boy for you. |
Arlie does well with other mature, friendly dogs, but would be perfectly content as the only treasured companion. He wasn't raised with young children, so children in his new family should be school age or above. Arlie is neutered, up to date on shots and housetrained. His one medical problem is that he has had neck and back pain, and a new family should be prepared to deal with minor pain management. The vet thinks he may have a mild case of Syringomyelia (SM), a disorder increasingly common to the breed. Arlie knows sit and stay and walks well on a leash. Having a physically fenced in yard would be nice for him, but it is not necessary if your neighborhood is safe and quiet for leash walking. His preference is to be inside with his family, and he doesn’t really hang around outside very much, be it on his own or with the other dogs.
Arlie is being fostered in Redding, CT. Families who meet what we are looking for are welcome to apply for him. Please fill out the online application before calling Adoption Coordinator, Sandi at 203-938-5550 and be sure to note on the form that you are interested in Arlie. Thank You! |
