Lovie in Fort Collins, CO

Lovie is an adorable, energetic girl who will be 11 later this month. People who meet her are surprised to learn her age. The highlights in her ears are the only thing most people might notice as a hint of her age. If she is awake, her tail is wagging. She enjoys walks in the park and is as happy as she can be.

This sweet girl came into rescue when her owners moved to a place that did not allow pets. She wants to be with people and gets along well with other small, friendly dogs. She is house trained but does need to go outside every few hours during the daytime.

Lovie has a grade V/VI heart murmur. She saw a board certified cardiologist for an exam before she could go under anesthesia for her dental. She had some extractions during her dental, but the remaining teeth are clean and in great shape. She has allergies and different options to help with them were tried until we found what seems to work best for her. The heart medication and allergy medications are about $90 a month. Lovie is eligible for the Share Care program which will help with this expense for the first year.

She is a trim 16.5 pounds and came in at a good weight. Lovie is very cooperative for brushing. She is deaf but responds well to hand signals. Another small, friendly dog to help give her cues would be helpful, but not required. Her main wish is to have a home of her own that will love her, cherish her and want to spend time with her.
