Just Adopted! Here is Prince with his new family...

Update 4-27-12: Prince is now available for adoption, so please complete the online application if you are interested in this boy and then contact Rescue Team Leader Tonya Andersen at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . The ideal family for Prince will have another small, calm dog for companionship, children older than 10 if there are kids in the family, a fenced yard, and a willingness to continue Prince's at home physical therapy if needed. Here is a link to Prince now that he is recovered... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qBRtAYwuYX0. Compare this to the video at the end of this posting and you'll see how dramatically far he's come!

Update 4-3-12: Prince has had a minor setback in his recovery. Seems one of the pins in his leg has shifted and causing intermittent pain. His surgeon is going to adjust the pin this afternoon and he will spend a day or two in the vet hospital. Overall he's progressing well though and everyone is pleased with his progress so far.
Update 3-27-12: We are pleased to let you all know that Prince had his second surgery and is recovering well. His foster family is doing physical therapy exercises with him four times a day and we are all looking forward to the time when he can run and play outside for the first time in his life. Thanks so much to all who have generously contributed to his care and to his followup. We will post more pictures soon.
Update 3-4-12: Prince continues to recover well from his first surgery. See this video...

His next surgery will cost over $2200, more than normal because of it's complexity, but if you watch the video of when he came to us that is at the end of this posting, you'll understand the severity of his condition.
Update 2-11-12: Prince has just had his first surgery. It was a very complicated surgery, but the orthopedic surgeon feels he came through it well.
Thanks to those of you who have helped with his vet bills thus far and sent good thoughts Prince's way. His vet bills will run rescue about $5K, so please donate and help if you can.
Original Post: Meet Prince. He is about a year old and he is sweet as could be. Prince loves everyone from kids to cats and anyone who will give him some love. Prince needs your help. As you will see in the video, Prince’s hind legs are deformed and don’t work well. At his age he should be an energetic, playful pup, but he can’t be. He tries to play with toys and the other dogs in his foster home, but due to his instability, he has to lay down on the ground otherwise he falls over.

Sweet, gentle Prince deserves a great life and we need your help so he can have one. Prince needs surgery to correct his legs and to fix his luxating patellas (kneecaps that slide out of place) but it is very expensive. He needs 2 surgeries, each costing about $2250 and his prior vet work cost rescue about $600. Without adding in any rehab, we are expecting Prince's expenses to be about $5000, which is major for us. Can you please help us raise that money? Any donation, big or small, would be greatly appreciated!
