Many thanks to everyone who donated money for Matthew’s surgery. A specialist removed the cyst on Matthew's eye. Matthew is doing great and he's now available for adoption.
This energetic little fellow is a bundle of love. Matthew enjoys running, playing with his foster brothers, and sleeping on mom’s lap. In the short time he has been here, Matthew has learned to come, sit, and walk on a leash. He enjoys being brushed with a soft brush.
Matthew loves to curl up beside his people on the couch. He is a little nervous around people who make sudden or unexpected movements. However, once a level of trust is established, he is fine. Matthew would do well in a family with older children and in a home that promotes calm and confidence. Matthew is house trained and sleeps in a crate at night. His new family will need to keep him on a schedule and watch him closely until he becomes familiar with his new surroundings and routines. Regular walks are fun for him, and help expend his energy.

Matthew weighs just over 15 pounds. He has a small frame and is very quick and agile. He needs a fenced in yard where he can run and chase his ball. He likes squeaky toys but can be possessive with toys and food around other dogs. No cats.
Matthew had a dermoid cyst growing on his left cornea that caused the eye to grow cloudy. Thanks to the generosity of Cavalier supporters, he was able to have it removed. His eye is still cloudy but the doctor said that it should begin to clear in the coming weeks. The redness will also disappear as he continues to heal.
Matthew is such a trooper. At the surgical center, everyone bragged on him because of his sweet disposition and his willingness to sit for examination. He will make a wonderful little companion!
